About Keyboardo

Keyboardo is a free online typing speed test built to help you measure and improve how fast and accurately you type. It runs entirely in your browser, needs no downloads, and works without an account. Every keystroke is scored the moment you press it, so your words per minute, accuracy and consistency update live as you type.

The project exists because a good typing test should be fast, honest and unobtrusive. Keyboardo loads in well under a second, reserves space so the page never jumps around while you type, and keeps its interface out of the way so you can focus on the words in front of you.

How it works

Click the words and start typing — the timer begins on your first keystroke. Correct letters are highlighted, mistakes are marked in real time, and you can press Backspace to fix them. Press Tab at any moment to restart with a fresh set of words. When a test finishes you get a full report: net and raw words per minute, accuracy, a consistency score based on how steady your pace was, a chart of your speed over time with your errors marked, and a per-word breakdown of exactly where you slipped.

Modes and options

There are four ways to type. Timed tests run for 15, 30, 60 or 120 seconds. Word tests give you a fixed run of 10, 25, 50 or 100 words. Quote mode serves classic passages from public-domain literature in short, medium and long lengths. Zen mode removes the timer and the target so you can type freely for as long as you like. You can also add punctuation and numbers to word and time tests to make them tougher.

Languages and themes

Keyboardo ships word lists for English (the 1,000 and 5,000 most common words), French and Arabic, with full right-to-left support for Arabic — direction, caret and character colouring all behave correctly. Twelve carefully tuned colour themes are built in, from a calm dark default to high-contrast and paper-light options, and your choice is remembered between visits.

Free and privacy-respecting

Keyboardo is free to use and built to respect your privacy. You can take unlimited tests without signing up, and your results stay in your browser until you choose to create an account.
